So,... I decided I want to become a STROBIST - and I just did a Quick Strobist Style test before deciding to go ahead and invest some money into new "Strobist Gear" - I already know that I’m sold, I absolutely love the concept of carrying around 4-5 Flasheads with Umbrellas and modifiers and ready to do a complex shoot just about anywhere.

So I pulled out some of the gear that I already have and did a midnight shoot on my front porch.

The photos are not the greatest but I'm alrady really excited about the possibilities once my extra off camera Speedlite Flashes arrive.

The shots were taken with Two Canon Speedlites - 580Ex on Camera in Manual Mode, Canon 550EX from the side - the 550Ex is at 1/2 power at about 4.5 feet, and I’m around 12 feet from the subject at 1/8th +3 - both flashes set to 50mm - also there is a huge bounce card behind the model to reflect some of the light from the 550EX. and ther is a Thngsten light just right about above the models head. Which really did not add anything to the picture since I choose to shoot pretty fast and small Apperture (f14 at 1/60 or 30th Cant exactly remember).

So here is a before and after - after a 8 minute Photoshop session of lets do this and than lets do that, but darn lets go back and add some sun Rays to make this midnight shot a bit more surreal.

and of course the lovely model is my wonderful and very patient Wife ( Shari Baier )
